It’s finally here, and there’s no turning back now. Mardi Gras is officially in full swing, and Muses rolls at 6:30 on Thursday. The city will become one big party, with hundreds of thousands of tourists and locals enjoying music, drinks, and life together. Children will covet their throws more than their Christmas presents, and parents will deflect beads aiming straight for their heads. The time is near… Mardi Gras season is less than a week away! That means it’s time to begin training. Mardi Gras, though it officially starts on February 4th, really begins with Krewe du Vieux on January 23rd. This, um, adult parade starts at 6:30pm every year and kicks off the Mardi Gras season with a very, very large bang. With floats gliding down Frenchman deep into the night and parties going until the early (maybe even late) morning, downtown is filled with people all day and all night, drinking until they can’t see and walking until they can’t stand.
Jessica has been a Balanced Body Certified Pilates Instructor since 2009 and enjoys almost anything physical. She is a trained acrobat and aerialist and dabbles as a dancer, surfer, rollerskater, swimmer and just about any other type of movement.
